OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The publication of textbooks by publishers of textbooks under the Karnataka Education Act, 1995, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Information Technology Department, Government of Karnataka on the manner in which the publication of textbooks by publishers of textbooks is to be regulated under the Karnataka Education Act, 1995.

2. The matter has been examined. Every publisher of textbooks carrying on the publication of textbooks shall make an application in Form G to the Council within seven days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the publication of textbooks is undertaken, and the Council shall dispose of it within seven days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Information Technology Department, Government of Karnataka.
