STANDING ORDER

To

All Surveyors,

Subject: The grazing of cattle on Government waste land by graziers on Government waste land under the Punjab Security of Land Tenures Act, 1953, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Punjab Security of Land Tenures Act, 1953 (Punjab Act 10 of 1953), the Mines and Geology Department, Government of Punjab hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the grazing of cattle on Government waste land by graziers on Government waste land.

2. The matter has been examined. Every grazier on Government waste land carrying on the grazing of cattle on Government waste land shall make an application in Form 3 to the Tahsildar within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Surveyor shall ensure that record of rights is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Tahsildar within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Mines and Geology Department, Government of Punjab.
