STANDING ORDER

To

All Deputy Superintending Archaeologists,

Subject: The management of a museum by curators of a museum under the Tamil Nadu Ancient and Historical Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1966, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Ancient and Historical Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1966 (Tamil Nadu Act 25 of 1966), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the management of a museum by curators of a museum.

2. The matter has been examined. Every curator of a museum carrying on the management of a museum shall make an application in Form I to the Museum Board within seven days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Deputy Superintending Archaeologist shall ensure that permission is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Museum Board within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
