STANDING ORDER
To
All Highway Administration Officers,
Subject: The use of a transport vehicle by permit holders under the Maharashtra Motor Vehicles Tax Act, 1958, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Motor Vehicles Tax Act, 1958 (Maharashtra Act 65 of 1958), the Transport Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the use of a transport vehicle by permit holders.
2. The matter has been examined. Every permit holder carrying on the use of a transport vehicle shall make an application in Form 38 to the State Transport Appellate Tribunal within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.
3. The Highway Administration Officer shall ensure that goods receipt is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the State Transport Appellate Tribunal within sixty days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of Maharashtra.
