STANDING ORDER
To
All Shipping Masters,
Subject: The operation of a fishing vessel by owners of a fishing vessel under the Maharashtra Maritime Board Act, 1996, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Maritime Board Act, 1996 (Maharashtra Act 10 of 1996), the Ports Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the operation of a fishing vessel by owners of a fishing vessel.
2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a fishing vessel carrying on the operation of a fishing vessel shall make an application in Form 4 to the Mercantile Marine Department within seven days, accompanied by a fee of fifty thousand rupees.
3. The Shipping Master shall ensure that crew list is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Mercantile Marine Department within seven days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Ports Department, Government of Maharashtra.
