OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The provision of medical benefit by insurance medical practitioners under the Kerala Headload Workers Act, 1978, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Law Department, Government of Kerala on the manner in which the provision of medical benefit by insurance medical practitioners is to be regulated under the Kerala Headload Workers Act, 1978.

2. The matter has been examined. Every insurance medical practitioner carrying on the provision of medical benefit shall make an application in Form 2 to the Welfare Board within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the provision of medical benefit is undertaken, and the Welfare Board shall dispose of it within ninety days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Kerala.
