STANDING ORDER

To

All Assessors,

Subject: The ownership of a building by owners of a building under the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act, 1888, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act, 1888 (Maharashtra Act 3 of 1888), the Urban Development Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the ownership of a building by owners of a building.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a building carrying on the ownership of a building shall make an application in Form A to the Municipal Council within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand five hundred rupees.

3. The Assessor shall ensure that drain is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Municipal Council within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Urban Development Department, Government of Maharashtra.
