OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The treatment of waste by operators of a waste treatment facility under the Kerala Forest Act, 1961, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Excise Department, Government of Kerala on the manner in which the treatment of waste by operators of a waste treatment facility is to be regulated under the Kerala Forest Act, 1961.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a waste treatment facility carrying on the treatment of waste shall make an application in Form VII to the Central Board within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the treatment of waste is undertaken, and the Central Board shall dispose of it within sixty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Excise Department, Government of Kerala.
