OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: Service as a conductor by conductors of a stage carriage under the Maharashtra Motor Vehicles Tax Act, 1958, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Mines and Geology Department, Government of Maharashtra on the manner in which service as a conductor by conductors of a stage carriage is to be regulated under the Maharashtra Motor Vehicles Tax Act, 1958.

2. The matter has been examined. Every conductor of a stage carriage carrying on service as a conductor shall make an application in Form 29 to the Licensing Authority within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which service as a conductor is undertaken, and the Licensing Authority shall dispose of it within ninety days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Mines and Geology Department, Government of Maharashtra.
