OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The performance of rituals in a temple by archakas under the Madhya Pradesh Public Trusts Act, 1951, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Environment Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh on the manner in which the performance of rituals in a temple by archakas is to be regulated under the Madhya Pradesh Public Trusts Act, 1951.

2. The matter has been examined. Every archaka carrying on the performance of rituals in a temple shall make an application in Form C to the Deputy Charity Commissioner within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred and fifty rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the performance of rituals in a temple is undertaken, and the Deputy Charity Commissioner shall dispose of it within ninety days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Environment Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh.
