STANDING ORDER
To
All Deputy Tahsildars,
Subject: The cultivation of land as tenant by tenants under the Karnataka Land Revenue Act, 1964, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Land Revenue Act, 1964 (Karnataka Act 12 of 1964), the Revenue Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the cultivation of land as tenant by tenants.
2. The matter has been examined. Every tenant carrying on the cultivation of land as tenant shall make an application in Form 3 to the Settlement Officer within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of twenty rupees.
3. The Deputy Tahsildar shall ensure that register of holdings is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Settlement Officer within fifteen days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Revenue Department, Government of Karnataka.
