STANDING ORDER

All Surveyors,

Subject: The sinking of a well on Government land by owners of a well on Government land under the Goa, Daman and Diu Agricultural Tenancy Act, 1964, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Goa, Daman and Diu Agricultural Tenancy Act, 1964 (Goa Act 7 of 1964), the Tourism Department, Government of Goa hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the sinking of a well on Government land by owners of a well on Government land.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a well on Government land carrying on the sinking of a well on Government land shall make an application in Form 8 to the Board of Revenue within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees.

3. The Surveyor shall ensure that mutation is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Board of Revenue within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Tourism Department, Government of Goa.
