STANDING ORDER

All Market Secretaries,

Subject: Membership of a society by members under the Karnataka Co-operative Societies Act, 1959, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Co-operative Societies Act, 1959 (Karnataka Act 11 of 1959), the Agriculture Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to membership of a society by members.

2. The matter has been examined. Every member carrying on membership of a society shall make an application in Form G to the Seed Certification Agency within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Market Secretary shall ensure that society is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Seed Certification Agency within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Agriculture Department, Government of Karnataka.
