STANDING ORDER

To

All Excise Superintendents,

Subject: The wholesale vend of liquor by wholesale vendors under the Punjab Excise Act, 1914, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Punjab Excise Act, 1914 (Punjab Act 1 of 1914), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Punjab hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the wholesale vend of liquor by wholesale vendors.

2. The matter has been examined. Every wholesale vendor carrying on the wholesale vend of liquor shall make an application in Form A to the Excise Commissioner within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of twenty-five thousand rupees.

3. The Excise Superintendent shall ensure that cask is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Excise Commissioner within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Punjab.
