STANDING ORDER

To

All Secretaries of the Gram Panchayat,

Subject: The holding of a fair by licensees of a fair under the West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1973, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1973 (West Bengal Act 41 of 1973), the Labour Department, Government of West Bengal hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of a fair by licensees of a fair.

2. The matter has been examined. Every licensee of a fair carrying on the holding of a fair shall make an application in Form 3 to the Gram Panchayat within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. The Secretary of the Gram Panchayat shall ensure that market is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Gram Panchayat within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of West Bengal.
