OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The import of food by importers of food under the Maharashtra Animal Preservation Act, 1977, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Food and Civil Supplies Department, Government of Maharashtra on the manner in which the import of food by importers of food is to be regulated under the Maharashtra Animal Preservation Act, 1977.

2. The matter has been examined. Every importer of food carrying on the import of food shall make an application in Form A to the Designated Officer within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the import of food is undertaken, and the Designated Officer shall dispose of it within fourteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Food and Civil Supplies Department, Government of Maharashtra.
