STANDING ORDER

To

All Forest Officers,

Subject: The discharge of effluent by persons carrying on an industry under the Kerala Forest Act, 1961, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Forest Act, 1961 (Kerala Act 4 of 1961), the Mines and Geology Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the discharge of effluent by persons carrying on an industry.

2. The matter has been examined. Every person carrying on an industry carrying on the discharge of effluent shall make an application in Form V to the Government of Kerala within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Forest Officer shall ensure that forest produce is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Government of Kerala within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Mines and Geology Department, Government of Kerala.
