OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The receipt of instruments in evidence by public officers under the Kerala Stamp Act, 1959, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Registration and Stamps Department, Government of Kerala on the manner in which the receipt of instruments in evidence by public officers is to be regulated under the Kerala Stamp Act, 1959.

2. The matter has been examined. Every public officer carrying on the receipt of instruments in evidence shall make an application in Form C to the Collector within one month, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the receipt of instruments in evidence is undertaken, and the Collector shall dispose of it within one month of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Registration and Stamps Department, Government of Kerala.
