STANDING ORDER

All Secretaries of the Gram Panchayat,

Subject: The construction of a building in a village by owners of a building in a village under the Karnataka Gram Swaraj and Panchayat Raj Act, 1993, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Gram Swaraj and Panchayat Raj Act, 1993 (Karnataka Act 14 of 1993), the Labour Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the construction of a building in a village by owners of a building in a village.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a building in a village carrying on the construction of a building in a village shall make an application in Form 1 to the District Panchayat within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. The Secretary of the Gram Panchayat shall ensure that market is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the District Panchayat within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of Karnataka.
