STANDING ORDER

To

All Secretaries of the Gram Panchayat,

Subject: The keeping of a shop in a village market by shopkeepers in a village market under the Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1994, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1994 (Andhra Pradesh Act 13 of 1994), the Transport Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the keeping of a shop in a village market by shopkeepers in a village market.

2. The matter has been examined. Every shopkeeper in a village market carrying on the keeping of a shop in a village market shall make an application in Form 1 to the District Panchayat within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Secretary of the Gram Panchayat shall ensure that tax is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the District Panchayat within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh.
