STANDING ORDER
To
All registering authorities,
Subject: Dealing in motor vehicles by dealers under the Maharashtra Motor Vehicles Tax Act, 1958, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Motor Vehicles Tax Act, 1958 (Maharashtra Act 65 of 1958), the Home Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to dealing in motor vehicles by dealers.
2. The matter has been examined. Every dealer carrying on dealing in motor vehicles shall make an application in Form 23 to the State Transport Authority within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.
3. The registering authority shall ensure that toll is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the State Transport Authority within sixty days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Home Department, Government of Maharashtra.
