OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The purchase of an apartment by allottees under the Tamil Nadu Regulation of Rights and Responsibilities of Landlords and Tenants Act, 2017, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Finance Department, Government of Tamil Nadu on the manner in which the purchase of an apartment by allottees is to be regulated under the Tamil Nadu Regulation of Rights and Responsibilities of Landlords and Tenants Act, 2017.

2. The matter has been examined. Every allottee carrying on the purchase of an apartment shall make an application in Form B to the Rent Controller within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the purchase of an apartment is undertaken, and the Rent Controller shall dispose of it within sixty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
