OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The running of an institution for persons with disabilities by institutions for persons with disabilities under the Karnataka Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Reservation of Seats in Educational Institutions and of Appointments or Posts) Act, 2018, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Social Welfare Department, Government of Karnataka on the manner in which the running of an institution for persons with disabilities by institutions for persons with disabilities is to be regulated under the Karnataka Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Reservation of Seats in Educational Institutions and of Appointments or Posts) Act, 2018.

2. The matter has been examined. Every institution for persons with disabilities carrying on the running of an institution for persons with disabilities shall make an application in Form I to the Commission within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the running of an institution for persons with disabilities is undertaken, and the Commission shall dispose of it within sixty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Social Welfare Department, Government of Karnataka.
