OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The carrying on of business by persons carrying on business under the Maharashtra Shops and Establishments (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 2017, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Finance Department, Government of Maharashtra on the manner in which the carrying on of business by persons carrying on business is to be regulated under the Maharashtra Shops and Establishments (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 2017.

2. The matter has been examined. Every person carrying on business carrying on the carrying on of business shall make an application in Form A to the Registrar within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the carrying on of business is undertaken, and the Registrar shall dispose of it within fifteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Maharashtra.
