STANDING ORDER

To

All Forest Officers,

Subject: The running of a saw mill by owners of a saw mill under the Karnataka Forest Act, 1964, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Forest Act, 1964 (Karnataka Act 5 of 1964), the Finance Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of a saw mill by owners of a saw mill.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a saw mill carrying on the running of a saw mill shall make an application in Form V to the Central Board within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.

3. The Forest Officer shall ensure that hazardous substance is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Central Board within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Karnataka.
