OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The occupation of premises by tenants under the Uttar Pradesh Urban Buildings (Regulation of Letting, Rent and Eviction) Act, 1972, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Law Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh on the manner in which the occupation of premises by tenants is to be regulated under the Uttar Pradesh Urban Buildings (Regulation of Letting, Rent and Eviction) Act, 1972.

2. The matter has been examined. Every tenant carrying on the occupation of premises shall make an application in Form A to the Rent Controller within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the occupation of premises is undertaken, and the Rent Controller shall dispose of it within sixty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
