STANDING ORDER

To

All Chief Commissioners,

Subject: The engagement of sanitation workers by sanitation contractors under the Karnataka Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Reservation of Seats in Educational Institutions and of Appointments or Posts) Act, 2018, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Reservation of Seats in Educational Institutions and of Appointments or Posts) Act, 2018 (Karnataka Act 2 of 2018), the Social Welfare Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the engagement of sanitation workers by sanitation contractors.

2. The matter has been examined. Every sanitation contractor carrying on the engagement of sanitation workers shall make an application in Form I to the Government of Karnataka within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Chief Commissioner shall ensure that certificate is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Government of Karnataka within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Social Welfare Department, Government of Karnataka.
