GOVERNMENT OF THE NATIONAL CAPITAL TERRITORY OF DELHI

New Delhi, dated the 28th April, 2019

STANDING ORDER

All Excise Officers,

Subject: The transport of excisable articles by transporters under the Delhi Excise Act, 2009, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Delhi Excise Act, 2009 (Delhi Act 10 of 2009), the Transport Department, Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the transport of excisable articles by transporters.

2. The matter has been examined. Every transporter carrying on the transport of excisable articles shall make an application in Form B to the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.

3. The Excise Officer shall ensure that premises is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
