OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The drawing of water from a river by riparian owners under the Karnataka Ground Water (Regulation and Control of Development and Management) Act, 2011, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Water Resources Department, Government of Karnataka on the manner in which the drawing of water from a river by riparian owners is to be regulated under the Karnataka Ground Water (Regulation and Control of Development and Management) Act, 2011.

2. The matter has been examined. Every riparian owner carrying on the drawing of water from a river shall make an application in Form C to the Tribunal within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the drawing of water from a river is undertaken, and the Tribunal shall dispose of it within ninety days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Water Resources Department, Government of Karnataka.
