STANDING ORDER

All Rent Controllers,

Subject: The occupation of premises by tenants under the Uttar Pradesh Urban Buildings (Regulation of Letting, Rent and Eviction) Act, 1972, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Uttar Pradesh Urban Buildings (Regulation of Letting, Rent and Eviction) Act, 1972 (Uttar Pradesh Act 13 of 1972), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the occupation of premises by tenants.

2. The matter has been examined. Every tenant carrying on the occupation of premises shall make an application in Form A to the Authority within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty thousand rupees.

3. The Rent Controller shall ensure that apartment is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Authority within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
