STANDING ORDER

To

All Director Generals,

Subject: The occupation of land near a monument by occupiers of land near a monument under the Kerala Tourism (Conservation and Preservation of Areas) Act, 2005, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Tourism (Conservation and Preservation of Areas) Act, 2005 (Kerala Act 8 of 2005), the Tourism Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the occupation of land near a monument by occupiers of land near a monument.

2. The matter has been examined. Every occupier of land near a monument carrying on the occupation of land near a monument shall make an application in Form I to the Authority within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Director General shall ensure that monument is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Authority within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Tourism Department, Government of Kerala.
