STANDING ORDER

All Registrars,

Subject: Membership of a society by members under the Maharashtra Agricultural Lands (Ceiling on Holdings) Act, 1961, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Agricultural Lands (Ceiling on Holdings) Act, 1961 (Maharashtra Act 27 of 1961), the Agriculture Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to membership of a society by members.

2. The matter has been examined. Every member carrying on membership of a society shall make an application in Form C to the Government of Maharashtra within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. The Registrar shall ensure that licence is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Government of Maharashtra within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Agriculture Department, Government of Maharashtra.
