OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The distribution of food by distributors under the Maharashtra Animal Preservation Act, 1977, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Home Department, Government of Maharashtra on the manner in which the distribution of food by distributors is to be regulated under the Maharashtra Animal Preservation Act, 1977.

2. The matter has been examined. Every distributor carrying on the distribution of food shall make an application in Form D to the Food Authority within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of seven thousand five hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the distribution of food is undertaken, and the Food Authority shall dispose of it within sixty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Home Department, Government of Maharashtra.
