STANDING ORDER

To

All Rent Controllers,

Subject: The letting of premises by landlords under the Tamil Nadu Housing Board Act, 1961, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Housing Board Act, 1961 (Tamil Nadu Act 17 of 1961), the General Administration Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the letting of premises by landlords.

2. The matter has been examined. Every landlord carrying on the letting of premises shall make an application in Form A to the Rent Controller within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Rent Controller shall ensure that project is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Rent Controller within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the General Administration Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
