OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The conduct of tours by tour operators under the Maharashtra Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1960, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Tourism Department, Government of Maharashtra on the manner in which the conduct of tours by tour operators is to be regulated under the Maharashtra Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1960.

2. The matter has been examined. Every tour operator carrying on the conduct of tours shall make an application in Form III to the Director General within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the conduct of tours is undertaken, and the Director General shall dispose of it within thirty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Tourism Department, Government of Maharashtra.
