Subject: The provision of telecommunication services by service providers under the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India Act, 1997, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India Act, 1997 (24 of 1997), the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India hereby directs
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the provision of telecommunication services by service providers.
2. The matter has been examined. Every service provider carrying on the provision of telecommunication services shall make an application in Form C to the Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of ten lakh rupees.
3. The telegraph authority shall ensure that network is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal within thirty days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this direction may be brought to the notice of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India.
