STANDING ORDER
To
All Tahsildars,
Subject: The cultivation of land as tenant by tenants under the Punjab Security of Land Tenures Act, 1953, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Punjab Security of Land Tenures Act, 1953 (Punjab Act 10 of 1953), the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Government of Punjab hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the cultivation of land as tenant by tenants.
2. The matter has been examined. Every tenant carrying on the cultivation of land as tenant shall make an application in Form 12 to the State Government within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees.
3. The Tahsildar shall ensure that land is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the State Government within thirty days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Government of Punjab.
