STANDING ORDER

All Tahsildars,

Subject: The holding of land by holders of land under the Punjab Security of Land Tenures Act, 1953, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Punjab Security of Land Tenures Act, 1953 (Punjab Act 10 of 1953), the Revenue Department, Government of Punjab hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of land by holders of land.

2. The matter has been examined. Every holder of land carrying on the holding of land shall make an application in Form 12 to the Tahsildar within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Tahsildar shall ensure that land revenue is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Tahsildar within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Revenue Department, Government of Punjab.
