Subject: The establishment of a telecommunication network by authorised entities under the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India Act, 1997, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India Act, 1997 (24 of 1997), the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India hereby directs

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the establishment of a telecommunication network by authorised entities.

2. The matter has been examined. Every authorised entity carrying on the establishment of a telecommunication network shall make an application in Form A to the Authority within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of ten lakh rupees.

3. The telegraph authority shall ensure that message is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Authority within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this direction may be brought to the notice of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India.
