STANDING ORDER
To
All Tahsildars,
Subject: The holding of land by landholders under the Maharashtra Tenancy and Agricultural Lands Act, 1948, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Tenancy and Agricultural Lands Act, 1948 (Maharashtra Act 67 of 1948), the Revenue Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of land by landholders.
2. The matter has been examined. Every landholder carrying on the holding of land shall make an application in Form 1 to the Tahsildar within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees.
3. The Tahsildar shall ensure that land is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Tahsildar within sixty days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Revenue Department, Government of Maharashtra.
