STANDING ORDER

To

All Press Registrars,

Subject: The exhibition of films by exhibitors under the Tamil Nadu Exhibition of Films on Television Screen through Video Cassette Recorders (Regulation) Act, 1984, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Exhibition of Films on Television Screen through Video Cassette Recorders (Regulation) Act, 1984 (Tamil Nadu Act 7 of 1984), the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the exhibition of films by exhibitors.

2. The matter has been examined. Every exhibitor carrying on the exhibition of films shall make an application in Form I to the Press Registrar within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. The Press Registrar shall ensure that film is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Press Registrar within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
