OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The practice of medicine by registered medical practitioners under the Maharashtra Nursing Homes Registration Act, 1949, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Maharashtra on the manner in which the practice of medicine by registered medical practitioners is to be regulated under the Maharashtra Nursing Homes Registration Act, 1949.

2. The matter has been examined. Every registered medical practitioner carrying on the practice of medicine shall make an application in Form 20 to the Drugs Controller within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the practice of medicine is undertaken, and the Drugs Controller shall dispose of it within fifteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Maharashtra.
