STANDING ORDER

To

All commanding officers,

Subject: The construction of buildings in a cantonment by owners of land within a cantonment under the Uttar Pradesh Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act, 1986, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Uttar Pradesh Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act, 1986 (Uttar Pradesh Act 7 of 1986), the Tourism Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the construction of buildings in a cantonment by owners of land within a cantonment.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of land within a cantonment carrying on the construction of buildings in a cantonment shall make an application in Form B to the Government of Uttar Pradesh within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The commanding officer shall ensure that register is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Government of Uttar Pradesh within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Tourism Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
