STANDING ORDER

To

All commanding officers,

Subject: The running of a canteen by holders of a canteen licence under the Tamil Nadu Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Bootleggers, Drug Offenders... Act, 1982, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Bootleggers, Drug Offenders... Act, 1982 (Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982), the Home Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of a canteen by holders of a canteen licence.

2. The matter has been examined. Every holder of a canteen licence carrying on the running of a canteen shall make an application in Form A to the Cantonment Board within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The commanding officer shall ensure that register is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Cantonment Board within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Home Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
