STANDING ORDER
To
All adjudicating authorities,
Subject: The holding of foreign exchange by persons resident in India under the Karnataka Industries (Facilitation) Act, 2002, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Industries (Facilitation) Act, 2002 (Karnataka Act 45 of 2002), the Transport Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of foreign exchange by persons resident in India.
2. The matter has been examined. Every person resident in India carrying on the holding of foreign exchange shall make an application in Form ANF-3A to the Government of Karnataka within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.
3. The adjudicating authority shall ensure that foreign exchange is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Government of Karnataka within thirty days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of Karnataka.
