OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: The business of a financial institution by financial institutions under the Maharashtra Protection of Interest of Depositors (in Financial Establishments) Act, 2000, regarding.
1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Finance Department, Government of Maharashtra on the manner in which the business of a financial institution by financial institutions is to be regulated under the Maharashtra Protection of Interest of Depositors (in Financial Establishments) Act, 2000.
2. The matter has been examined. Every financial institution carrying on the business of a financial institution shall make an application in Form B to the Government of Maharashtra within seven days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.
3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the business of a financial institution is undertaken, and the Government of Maharashtra shall dispose of it within seven days of its receipt.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Maharashtra.
