CIRCULAR
To
All Electrical Inspectors,
Subject: The storage of petroleum by persons engaged in the supply of energy under the Electricity Act, 2003, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Electricity Act, 2003 (36 of 2003), the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission hereby issues the following
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the storage of petroleum by persons engaged in the supply of energy.
2. The matter has been examined. Every person engaged in the supply of energy carrying on the storage of petroleum shall make an application in Form II to the Authority within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.
3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the storage of petroleum is undertaken, and the Authority shall dispose of it within thirty days of its receipt.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this circular may be brought to the notice of the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission.
