STANDING ORDER

To

All Marriage Officers,

Subject: The management of the property of a minor by guardians appointed by the court under the Maharashtra Regulation of Marriage Bureaus and Registration of Marriages Act, 1998, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Regulation of Marriage Bureaus and Registration of Marriages Act, 1998 (Maharashtra Act 20 of 1998), the Law Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the management of the property of a minor by guardians appointed by the court.

2. The matter has been examined. Every guardian appointed by the court carrying on the management of the property of a minor shall make an application in Form I to the Registrar General within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Marriage Officer shall ensure that account is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Registrar General within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Maharashtra.
