STANDING ORDER

All Secretaries of the Gram Panchayat,

Subject: The keeping of a shop in a village market by shopkeepers in a village market under the Rajasthan Panchayati Raj Act, 1994, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Rajasthan Panchayati Raj Act, 1994 (Rajasthan Act 13 of 1994), the Law Department, Government of Rajasthan hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the keeping of a shop in a village market by shopkeepers in a village market.

2. The matter has been examined. Every shopkeeper in a village market carrying on the keeping of a shop in a village market shall make an application in Form 3 to the Block Development Officer within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees.

3. The Secretary of the Gram Panchayat shall ensure that tax is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Block Development Officer within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Rajasthan.
