OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The construction of buildings in a vulnerable area by owners of a building in a vulnerable area under the Tamil Nadu Fire Service Act, 1985, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Government of Tamil Nadu on the manner in which the construction of buildings in a vulnerable area by owners of a building in a vulnerable area is to be regulated under the Tamil Nadu Fire Service Act, 1985.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a building in a vulnerable area carrying on the construction of buildings in a vulnerable area shall make an application in Form C to the National Authority within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the construction of buildings in a vulnerable area is undertaken, and the National Authority shall dispose of it within thirty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
